117 Another engagement with the NGO Pustakar enables us to support government schools near our R&D campus in accessing mobile libraries. Pustakaar supports schools which don’t have libraries by loaning a set of books to be used by the children. These books are on loan, and Pustakaar exchanges the books for a fresh set every few weeks. Through this initiative, we extend our support to mobile libraries in public schools surrounding our integrated R&D center in Hyderabad. Under this initiative, children from grades 3 to 10 receive a refreshed collection of books regularly, nurturing a love for reading and learning. With the support extended by us, Pustakaar expanded their program to include both class 4 and 5 students. The schools receiving the support report on students becoming more engaged and interactive in the classroom. In the reporting year, we partnered with the NIIT Foundation to enable livelihood opportunities for underserved communities in Hyderabad, Telangana. The skill development centre offered courses to train candidates with basic computer skills, communication and soft skills needed for entry-level roles across BPO/CRM, Retail, Inventory management, Healthcare and BFSI. NIIT Foundation developed and conducted multiple courses, and provided placement opportunities to candidates upon successful completion of the programs. The courses were designed to train candidates for entry-level job roles across BPO/CRM, Retail, Healthcare and BFSI segments. We undertakes capacity-building and skill-enhancing initiatives to empower communities and help them overcome the barriers of poverty.
