Sai Life Sciences Sustainability Report - 2023-24

54 We have implemented several robust control measures to prevent groundwater contamination: • Secondary Containment: All liquid chemical storage tanks are equipped with secondary containment to prevent any leakage. • Hard Flooring: Shop floors and work areas are constructed with reinforced concrete (RCC) and lined with acid-resistant tiles, ensuring a durable and impermeable surface. • Spill Control Kits: Every area is equipped with spill control kits to quickly and effectively address any spills that may occur. • Containment and Catch Pits: Solvent tanker unloading points feature containment systems and catch pits, along with RCC flooring, to prevent any accidental releases. • Drum Booth System: In manufacturing units, liquid handling is conducted through a drum booth system, minimizing the risk of spills during manual drum handling. • Effluent Storage: All effluent storage tanks are constructed above ground and lined with acid-resistant tiles, preventing seepage and protecting groundwater. • Groundwater Monitoring: In R&D center solvents dispensed to each laboratory by using through pipping net work with control values it reduces the waste of the solvents with containment facility.
