Sai’s SDG: Engage with 100% of critical suppliers in committing to the code of supplier conduct & ethics Suppliers We demonstrate focused and proactive effort that aligns with wider business objectives and initiatives to add more value to the way we work with our suppliers. From a lens of People Sustainability, we issued the ‘Suppliers Code of Conduct’ document to all suppliers, briefing the requirements of Social Accountability along with a ‘Social Accountability Questionnaire for Supplier’. This code sets forth the basic requirements that every supplier of Sai is expected to respect and adhere to when conducting business with the company. The use of child labour at any stage of a business process is strictly prohibited by law and in line with regulations. Further, the use of forced labour including prison or debt bondage labour, human trafficking, or any form of modern-day slavery is strictly prohibited. It is expected that employees of suppliers will be treated with respect and dignity, and the supplier will be fair and honest in their dealings. Terms and Conditions of employment will be agreed upon in writing as per applicable local law. It is imperative that suppliers do not discriminate based on race, colour, political affiliation, marital status, gender, disability, nationality, religion, caste or creed. Freedom of association being a fundamental right, the supplier will respect the right of employees to form or join unions. Without exception, suppliers are to comply strictly to applicable regulations and mandatory industry standards pertaining to minimum wages, overtime pay, working hours, disputes, industry relations, rest periods and applicable perks. The supplier shall develop and maintain fair and equitable procedures to receive and deal with employee grievances and with disciplinary issues. It is the duty of the supplier to ensure that employees who initiate a grievance do not suffer negative repercussions. Engaging with the value chain on social accountability
