Commercial-scale Photo Flow Chemistry successfully executed in Bidar
30 Apr 2026
Commercial-scale flow chemistry has been successfully executed at our API manufacturing site in Bidar for a late-phase program supporting a US-based innovator. This execution builds on prior investments in continuous processing infrastructure at the site, including a 3-litre photo flow reactor equipped with a monochromatic blue LED light source. The platform enables controlled photochemical transformations at kilogram scale and supports improved thermal management and reaction consistency compared to conventional batch processing.
Flow chemistry is applied where it offers clear advantages — particularly in the handling of hazardous intermediates, control of highly exothermic reactions, and management of light-driven transformations. Its integration into late-phase development and commercial manufacturing workflows supports safer scale-up and stronger process robustness.
The expansion strengthens our ability to incorporate continuous processing strategies into large-scale API programs where scientifically appropriate, supporting reliable execution through development and GMP manufacture.
