Sai Life Sciences plans new oral solid formulation facility

Sai Life Sciences plans to set up a new oral solid formulation facility to support small-molecule programs entering early clinical development, extending its development capabilities from drug substance into clinical drug product supply.

The facility is planned for commissioning next fiscal year and is expected to be ready within a year. Its initial focus will be on small-molecule oral solid formulations for Phase I and Phase II clinical programs, enabling customers to access formulation and early clinical supply capabilities as molecules progress toward the clinic.

The planned facility responds to growing demand from our pharmaceutical partners. Several customers already work with Sai Life Sciences across chemistry and drug substance development and are looking to extend these relationships into early clinical formulation. The new capability will enable Sai Life Sciences to support that progression, connecting chemistry and drug substance development with formulation and clinical supply.

The expansion also responds to growing demand for China+1 clinical supply, as pharmaceutical companies diversify their early-phase manufacturing and supply networks.

Importantly, the facility is being developed as an extension of existing development relationships rather than as a standalone formulation offering. By connecting formulation with chemistry and drug substance development, teams can carry forward program knowledge and scientific context as molecules move toward the clinic.

The planned oral solid formulation facility represents a further expansion of Sai Life Sciences’ development platform, strengthening its ability to support customers across the early stages of the drug development journey.
