First phase of Sai Life Sciences’ new integrated R&D Campus now open
10 Aug 2026
Sai Life Sciences has inaugurated the first facility within its new Unit VIII campus in Hyderabad’s Genome Valley, marking an expansion of its capabilities across Discovery and CMC. The newly operational 100,000 sq. ft. R&D facility strengthens the company’s infrastructure to support drug discovery and development programs.
Located adjacent to the Integrated R&T Center (Unit II), Unit VIII is being developed as an extension of Sai Life Sciences’ R&D footprint in Genome Valley.
The newly opened facility includes expanded medicinal chemistry infrastructure alongside CMC capabilities, with advanced laboratory and analytical infrastructure. Bringing these capabilities together within the facility is designed to enable closer collaboration as programs progress from early discovery into development.
The facility is designed to support multiple programs in parallel, with infrastructure for technology transfer, scale-up and the transfer of scientific knowledge between research and development teams. This provides greater continuity as molecules progress from discovery into process development and other CMC activities, enabling teams to build on scientific understanding as programs advance. The opening of this first facility marks the initial phase of Sai Life Sciences’ multi-year investment program at Unit VIII, aimed at expanding capacity and capabilities in response to growing demand for integrated drug discovery and development partnerships. The Unit VIII campus will be developed in phases, with the newly operational facility providing the foundation for further expansion at the site.
