Flow chemistry advances from development into GMP manufacturing
20 Aug 2026
We have successfully scaled up a late-stage GMP intermediate for a large pharmaceutical customer using flow chemistry, marking another step in the application of advanced process technologies at our manufacturing facility.
The work demonstrates how flow chemistry can be applied beyond process development to support the manufacture of complex intermediates at scale. As molecule complexity increases across development and manufacturing programs, these technologies can offer new approaches to process control, safety and scale-up.
We are also extending our work beyond the reaction itself, experimenting with continuous downstream operations including extraction, distillation and crystallization. The longer-term objective is to develop and implement more end-to-end flow applications within commercial manufacturing.
The growing application of continuous processing reflects our focus on building manufacturing technologies that can support increasingly complex molecules and evolving process requirements.
From reaction to downstream processing, we are continuing to explore how flow can reshape the way complex chemistry moves to scale.
